Metal Roofs vs. Tiled Roofs- Which Is Better

For the longest time ever, one of the most commonly used roofing material was the tile. This was because it was not only cheap, but more often than not; it made a home look good. Therefore, when Metal Roofs made an appearance in the roofing sector, a good number of people were hesitant to use them even though they had a number of benefits. However, a person looking to roof their home and confused on which type of roof to use, should not be since the two types of roofs differ vastly.

One, tiles are usually placed on the roof rather than attached with screws and bolts like metal roofing. This often means that a roof of tiles can be blown by strong winds, and storms, but metal roofs cannot, in fact they are the some of the few roof types that can withstand hurricane based gales.

Tiles usually need a replacement ever so often since they wear down easily. On the other hand, Metal Roofing can last up to fifty years without wearing down. This means that a roof made of metal can house different generations of people without a replacement.

Lastly, a Metal Roof can be used on almost any type of home and still look good. This cannot be said of tiled roofs, because in some home designs, tiles do not compliment the style.

However, tiles also have benefits like the fact that they are beautiful and different designs can be chosen. But, between the two roofing materials, roofs made of metal are better and have far more benefits than those of tiles.
